West Potomac High School Academy Student of the Year

West Potomac High School Academy’s student of the year, Ture Duprey, truly represents what the academy’s classes can offer students.

Ture’s television/media production teacher Rob Giampapa, better known as Mr. G, had these words to say at the WPHS graduation ceremony as Ture received the Outstanding West Potomac Academy Student Award Awards:

“Find what you love and pursue it with passion and I promise your life will be better for it.

I started teaching here 3 years ago, had never taught a class of any kind before and this student was in 2nd term sophomore year. Its 2nd class, my 4th day of teaching. He came up to me and said, “I have an idea, I want to interview some students and talk about how serious this new cell phone policy is.

I waited until the day before graduation to tell Madame Millard. Sorry.

But, I looked at him and thought – creativity, stubbornness and rebellion – he’s my guy.

When I saw the quality of the videos he had that day, I knew he was different.

From countless sports video here, counseling videos, academy videos, not to mention the school closing in 2020, he was there to help with everything for graduation, school snack degrees and awards from the Academy.

He has his own business, works with clients all over NoVa, music videos, product commercials, highlight videos, fashion videos, you name it, he can do it. He is the best videographer to have walked through these doors!

You may know him from his Instagram, @turemotions. The one and only, WestPo’s van wilder, makes noise for Ture King Duprey-Cordner.”
