Preparatory meeting for the centenary of the East Hostel; former inmates of the heritage institution join

The executive committee of the Centennial Celebration Committee of the historic East Hostel at Ravenshaw University met here recently. Former students of the Heritage Inn of Odisha’s oldest college discussed how to organize the event.

They formed sub-committees and gave responsibilities to mentors and patrons, who were once the frontiers of East Hostel. Details on logistics, finances, publications including digital and social media and outreach programs were worked out at the meeting.

Members decided to organize inter-hostel sports, literary competitions, blood donation camps, planting campaigns, torch and candle light processions and the selection of dignitaries and guests. Earlier on October 1 under the chairmanship of former Chief Secretary and President of the East Hostel Alumni Association (EAA) Dr Sahadev Sahoo in the presence of Ravenshaw University Vice Chancellor Professor Sanjay K Nayak, a meeting s ‘is held where it was decided to organize the centenary celebration of the Auberge de l’Est on December 24th.
