Schools on the coast are announcing closures Wednesday and Thursday as Hurricane Zeta approaches.

Here is a list of districts and schools with closures.
Bay-Waveland School District
In a Facebook video posted to the district’s page, Weather Channel star Jim Cantore said the district was closed on Wednesday because students were receiving distance education.
Biloxi Public Schools
Students in the district will receive distance education on Wednesday and Thursday, the superintendent said in a message to families.
Schools of the Catholic Diocese of Biloxi
Catholic schools in Hancock, Harrison, Jackson and Pearl River counties will be closed Wednesday and Thursday.
Gulfport School District
The district is open on Wednesday at 60% per day, with different exit times depending on the school. Students will go to distance school on Thursday.
Hancock County School District
Wednesday and Thursday are planned as distance learning days.
Jackson County School District
The district is on recess Wednesday, with a decision pending Thursday as district officials monitor the storm.
Long Beach School District
All campuses are closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays, with students assigned to remote work.
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College
All locations will close Wednesday at noon and will remain closed until Thursday. The university residences will remain open and the dining rooms will also be open with limited access.
Moss Point School District
The district will organize a 60% day on Wednesday and a virtual day on Thursday. See the district’s Facebook page for school outing times. Meals will be sent home with the students on Wednesday.
Ocean Springs School District
The neighborhood will operate on a 60% day on Wednesday and a possible 2 hour delay on Thursday.
Pascagoula-Gautier school district
The district plans to lay off students early Wednesday, while Thursday will be a distance learning day.
Pass Christian School District
The neighborhood is closed on Wednesday although students will be learning from a distance. A decision on Thursday is pending.
Picayune school district
The neighborhood will be closed Wednesday and students will return to class on Thursday, according to the Sun Herald.
University of Southern Mississippi
All locations in Hattiesburg and on the coast will close at 1 p.m. Wednesday, although the dorms will remain open. Restaurants will close at 3 pm; students are asked to take out early meals.
Tradition of William Carey University in Biloxi
Classes will move online from Wednesday at noon and resume normal programming at noon Thursday. The Hattiesburg campus will close at 3 p.m. Wednesday and resume Thursday at 8 a.m., the Sun Herald reported.
