King Edward VI Handsworth Wood Girls School Academy has been closed for a two-week circuit disruption due to Covid.
Principal Qamar Riaz said the school had no choice but to close due to the number of staff and students who tested positive for the coronavirus.
The school closed on Monday (November 16) and will reopen on December 1.
Mr Riaz told BirminghamLive: “We have made the decision to close the school on Monday evening for a two week circuit break.
“We had taken advice from all relevant authorities, including Public Health England, who advised us to do so. We felt that there was no other alternative due to the number of staff and students who had tested positive.
“We will reopen the school on December 1st.”
It is the last school to announce its closure due to the number of positive Covid tests within the school.
A school in Great Barr has also been forced to close after a large number of Covid cases were reported.
Q3 Academy has confirmed that its building based in Wilderness Lane will remain closed for a week after the positive results.
A spokesperson for the site said that due to the isolation of many of the staff there was “insufficient staff to open and run the academy safely.”
It is due to reopen on Monday, November 23.
