Josefina Echavarría obtained her PhD in Peace, Conflict and Democracy from Jaume I University (Spain). She was previously Director of the Center for Peace and Conflict Research (InnPeace) and Senior Lecturer in the Peace and Conflict Studies Unit at the University of Innsbruck (Austria). Echavarría has taught at many universities around the world on peacebuilding, peace education, gender, conflict analysis and research methods.

His research explores sustainable peacebuilding after violence, methods and facilitation of conflict transformation, reconciliation studies and practices, and memory and in / security and migration. She has also worked on various international cooperation projects in the fields of gender, citizenship and curriculum development for peace and conflict studies.
