A backup party for parents will be held at the King Alfred School Academy

A Backup Party is due to be held at King Alfred School Academy in Highbridge on Wednesday June 29 when parents can find out how to protect children from modern dangers.

The free event at the King Alfred School Academy Lecture Theater will begin at 5:30 p.m. and end around 6:30 p.m.

Organizer Ms Suzanne Lawrence of King Alfred School Academy said: “This is an invitation to all parents to attend the event.”

“Andri Nicolaou of Avon and Somerset Police will give a presentation on the subject of child exploitation and county lines in Somerset.”

“Andri’s presentations are always extremely interesting and relevant. Andri is always happy to talk to people after the presentation.

“It’s very easy for young people to get sucked into crime and anti-social behavior – it’s not a reflection on anyone’s parenting, but once a young person has gone down this path, they can be very difficult for him to go back.”

“If parents/guardians know the signs to look for and understand the issues and the language used, they can often stay one step ahead. Andri will also talk about online security.

This is a parent/guardian presentation only – no children please. If you want to participate, click on the Eventbrite page here. Tea and coffee will be available.
